Handlebar conversions are one way to make your bike feel more sporty or comfortable, and usually involve changing more than just the handlebars.  You may also need an appropriate stem (quill or ahead) plus alternative shifters and brake levers to suit the new position – these must also be compatible with your bike’s existing drivetrain & braking system.  Then the set-up may need new cables – and most definitely some fine-tuning – before new handlebar tape or grips are carefully fitted to finish the job.
