Photos from the restoration & customising of a 1974 Raleigh Caprice 3 speed roadster which I was asked to undertake by a customer… as a surprise present for his girlfriend’s birthday 🙂

Despite the completed project costing more than the bike may be perceived to be worth in market value, in terms of sentimental value and uniqueness and LOVE this bike is priceless… it’s a 100% bespoke handbuilt machine that will, if correctly maintained, work perfectly and look stunning for decades to come as every single part has been checked, repaired, cleaned, polished and lubricated – right down to the last thrust washer.  The total cost, including the original wreck of a bike, was close to that of a new Pashley Princess… which is of course not a genuine vintage bike at all.
