Just had a lovely half hour chatting to a new customer, Joe from Wilmslow, about his 1958 Raleigh 4 speed which for the last 25 years has been his “going-to-the-allotment-bike”. He’s brought it to me to replace the indicator chain and adjust the hub gear shifting, improve the rod brakes, inspect & tighten the wheel bearings and source some suitable replacement pedals, plus a general tune-up. Far too nice for a full restoration, let’s just get this beauty working perfectly again. Here’s the bike as supplied earlier today…
