Peugeot Etoile singlespeed

Another retro-modern machine built to my regular customer Harris’s specification & budget and utitising the leftovers from his previous vintage Peugeot HLE, which was wrecked by a bus in Manchester city centre!  I had this frameset in stock so, after stripping down his old bike, I added his new wheels & crankset along with anything salvageable from his old bike (brakes, bars, stem, post, saddle) and got to work dialing her in.  Total time spent on entire project was just under six hours.  The bike is running a leggy 79″ singlespeed gear ratio via all-new drivetrain and with upgraded brakes she stops pretty well too…

Headset: chromed 1″ (original to frame)
Stem: Atax (from old bike)
Handlebar: unknown pursuit bar (from old bike)
Bar Tape: Fizik (from old bike)
Brake Levers: Tektro RL726 (from old bike)
Brake Calipers: System EX, new pads (from old bike)
Freewheel: Dicta 1/8″ 16t (new)
Chain: KMC 1/8″ (new)
Crankset: Ambrosio track 130bcd, 48t (new)
Bottom Bracket: square tapered (original to frame)
Pedals: MKS
Rims: 45mm deep section (new)
Hubs: Quando, solid axles (new)
Tyres: Kenda 700x28c (new)
Saddle: Charge Spoon (from old bike)
Seatpost: chromed 23.8mm (from old bike)
Seatpost Binder: bolt (original to frame)
