Beautiful vintage Campagnolo Chorus road/racing groupset from 1988/89 comprising:
- Front derailleur
- Rear derailleur
- Chainset
- Bottom bracket
- Monoplaner brakes
- Aero brake levers
- Downtube shifters
Made in Italy.
All parts are in very good used condition, and were cleaned after removal from bike prior to sale.
The front derailleur is a 28.6mm band-on fit for steel frames.
The rear derailleur – the first slant parallelogram Campagnolo ever produced – has a A/B switch to suit different size low sprocket (said to be A – 27t, B – 32t). It is compatible with friction shifters (supplied) or 7/8 speed with Synchro shifters and has a few cosmetic signs of wear & tear. Pulleys are New Old Stock Campagnolo – the original white ones will be supplied but are missing one tooth.
The bottom bracket is ISO square taper, BSC threaded, size 68 x 111mm with original plastic sleeve (which has a small 1cm long split but is still functional) and original Campagnolo crank bolts.
The white brake lever hoods are in excellent condition, also included are the hard-to-find and often missing original brake cable guides.
The crankset is 52/42 with 170mm arms, standard 135 BCD and 3/32″ sizing. It has some heel rub but also includes lovely original threaded chrome plated dust caps.
The shifters are braze-on friction so are compatible with most freewheels/cassettes up to 8 speed.
One of the brake calipers has a non-standard dome nut.
No brake pads, freewheel/cassette, chain or cables are supplied but they are all easy to source.
