1973 Youngs 3 speed

The first project to be completed after my Covid / wedding / honeymoon is Will’s 1973 Youngs 3 speed, now set-up for his commuting duties.  The bike has been rebuilt with an upgraded seatpost & quill stem, plus lots of new parts (BLB bullhorns, Tektro brake levers, BBB bar tape, Continental 27 x 1 1/8″ tyres, SKS mudguards, brake cables and chain).  I also straightened the handbuilt plain gauge 531 frame, overhauled the original TD Cross bottom bracket and Sturmey Archer AW rear hub, tuned the GB ’88’ brakes, trued the rims etc…  The saddle is temporary but works well.  Overall, the bike carries its patina and fade well, and mechanically it’s tip-top!
As supplied by Will a few weeks ago…
