Given the recent escalation of the Coronavirus I have given a lot of thought as to how best to deal with the situation. Bikes shops have been deemed essential and are exempt from forced closure, so I am still here fixing bikes but with some significant changes to the way the shop runs. My hours
Saturday 4th May saw an excellent open day at the workshop with appearances by a steady stream of new & old faces despite the brisk weather. The photos show our set-up at opening time. Merry Christmas! As revealed in my last post, after 10 years Dead Rats Cycles is moving just around the corner from our old workshop, to 7a Nicolas Road, Chorlton, Manchester, M21 9LG. Locals will recognise the building very well as it was the home of the much-loved Irene’s Sewing Box for the last 28 years.

I had a good time with my old mate Peter in the stunning Peak District at the 5th Eroica Britannia last weekend, enjoying the scenery and chatting (about vintage bicycles mainly) to some lovely folks. Here are a few snaps of the final day, one of my first trips out since the birth of my
