The most significant of Darren’s fleet of ten vintage Muddy Foxes is surely his first, the 1988 Courier, which he’s owned from new and ridden regularly over the past 35 years. I was delighted to rebuild the bike for him over the past few weeks and I’m pleased to report that it’s still as original as possible, aside from the tyres, chain and cables.
The Courier features a Japanese built Tange cro-mo frameset with Suntour 3×6 speed Accushift, Sugino cranks with Cycloid chainrings, Araya rims, Sansin hubs, Dia-Compe brakes and Tange headset and bottom bracket. It’s not the first of Darren’s collection I’ve work on… and something tells me it won’t be the last!
