Rob’s glorious 1992 Tommasini after several hours of workshop time. Not perfect but I’m happy with the result given the absolute state it came to me in – and the owner’s brief not go cosmetically OCD on the bike! Owned from new and still running its original 8 speed Campagnolo Chorus groupset with Synchro DT shifters (and temporary wheels) this Columbus SLX tubed Italian thoroughbred was thrashed throughout the ’90s, then effectively retired in favour of the owner’s Colnago in 2000. Hopefully now it’ll bring as much joy to Rob as it’s brought me over the last week…
